Jim Fabris, Master Writing Teacher, is offering workshops for youth who want to explore and develop their writing ability over the summer break. Workshop fee: $200 per session. Session 1: Memoir WritingParticipants will:* transform unforgettable experiences into unforgettable pieces of writing*create compelling descriptions by appealing to all five of the reader’s senses *identify important life turning points and use writing to reflect on their meaningSession 2: Fiction WritingParticipants will learn how to:*develop complex three dimensional characters*create compelling plots that are rooted in the character’s conflicts *write dramatic and dynamic dialogue that both develops the characters and pushes the plot forward Both sessions will provide group activities, individual writing time, and sharing time.
